Last month the Luxembourg Stock Exchange provided a boost to businesses and investors by publishing a compendium of laws and regulations as they relate to investment fund set ups and securitisation vehicles in the country.
The compendium, which was written and collated as part of a joint project between the stock exchange and the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI), is available in English, French and German, reflecting Luxembourg's status as a popular financial services destination for businesses and investors from across Europe and the world.
The guidance encompasses two publications; the first of which relates to collective investment in transferable securities, while the second covers Alternative Investment Funds – the second largest component of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange – securitisation vehicles and the various legal amendments affecting investment funds that have been enacted since 2004.
"The publication of such a reference booklet was long overdue," Denise Voss, Chairman of ALFI told Chronicle.lu.
"The number of laws, regulations and circulars impacting investment funds is steadily increasing. Fund professionals now have access to a single source book for each particular type of fund, containing all main legal texts and accompanying circulars."
Voss added, "I am convinced that these publications will prove extremely useful to the international investment fund community."
